The Oakley Neighborhood Association would like to invite you to our next neighborhood association meeting. With the Omicron wave having nearly crested in our region, we're hoping and crossing fingers that this will be one of the last times we'll need to host the meeting virtually. With this in mind, please follow this Zoom link to join us on February 8th at 6PM.
We encourage everyone to spread the word and join us, as this will be a rather important meeting that will shape the future of the association. The By-laws Committee will discuss their first draft of our updated bylaws, Oakley's boundaries, and the elections process. This will be a great opportunity for the community to weigh in with their thoughts before the final draft is ratified later this year.
If such discussion of parliamentary rules doesn't do it for you, fret not! We're also in store for an exciting update about our 2nd annual "Open Streets_Thompson Street" event scheduled for May! This year we're working with more time to plan, and an actual budget. This thanks to our neighborhood organizers and generous sponsors (including Land Of Sky MPO, AARP, Asheville on Bikes, and possibly MAHEC)... This means more programming and more fun for everyone!
Also, at the time of that event we'll be debuting Oakley's new branding! Yup, it's official, Oakley will have its own official brand and style by that point. To give us an update on where we are with this, including info on a front porch Oakley flags, tune in to hear the Branding Committee's update.
